3rd Annual Linux Expo

The third annual Linux Expo is bigger and better than ever! You can't afford to miss it!

When: April 4th and 5th, 9am to 6pm

Where: *The North Carolina Biotechnology Center in *Research Triangle Park, NC.

Featuring: Two full days of technical talks by 14 leading Linux developers, biggest exhibition hall yet with lots of companies showing the latest Linux products, the First Annual Linux Bowl, *installation fest, job fair, food, fun, and juggling!

The Linux Reunion

This is the largest gathering of like-minded Linux users this year! Here's a unique opportunity to meet in person and debate issues with all those Linux hackers and developers you've heard of, or debated with on the net. Whether you just want to meet the people responsible for your favorite technology, or whether you are looking for valuable insights into doing business or software development the Linux way, this is a exceptional opportunity.

The Linux Conference

While the conference is largely technical and features leading developers you will also be able to meet with leading commercial vendors. This event is a rare opportunity to learn more about Linux. Whether you need to learn more about the specifics of recompiling the kernel to achieve symmetrical multiprocessing, or just find out how to configure multi-user Doom, this is the event for you. Don't miss this chance to learn from the leading Linux experts!

Install Fest

On Saturday, there will be an Install Fest, at which you can come to have expert help in installing the latest and greatest Linux distribution on your system, swap tips with other Linux users, and have a fun time in general. Please register *here so that we can get an idea of how many people will be participating in this event. Volunteers are also needed to act as installation coordinators - please signify your willingness by using the registration form linked to above.

Please visit the Washington Area UNIX User Group's *installfest page for more information.

The Linux Show

From the latest Linux hardware, components, and systems vendors, to software application, tools, and demonstrations from the vendors. Help on installation to advice on marketing products. Even a job fair featuring both opportunities with Linux and UNIX skills. From balloons and jugglers to speakers and hanging out, this is going to be one fun weekend you don't want to miss!

Admission:

All of this will be at no cost. Like Linux itself the Expo is free. Of course you are going to have to figure out how to get to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina and arrange your accommodations once here, but entry to the Expo itself will not cost you a penny. The event will be funded by the generous contributions of the sponsors, commercial exhibitors, and those on corporate expense accounts who can afford the limited reserved seating in the auditorium from which the technical talks will be broadcast.

The technical talks, which run all day Friday and Saturday, will be broadcast throughout the Expo area. The talks will be held in the Biotechnology Center's 170 seat auditorium. The limited seating in the auditorium is available on a first come, first served basis so reserve your seat today! The cost is $199, which covers both days.

Stay tuned to this site for more details, and new speakers and vendors!
