Disable the emulation.
Right click on the My Computer icon and choose
Properties. The System Properties window
should open. Click on the Device Manager tab. Click on the plus sign next to
Creative Miscellaneous Devices. Highlight Creative SB 16 emulation and click
the Properties button. Under the Generaltab you will see a Device Usage
category. This will towards the bottom of the page and there are two options
that you can select: Exists in all hardware profiles and Disable in all
hardware profiles. Check the box next to disable and uncheck the box next to
exists. Click Ok. Close the System Properties window.
Click the Start button and
then click Run. Type CTSYN.INI and then click
Ok. This will open the file in notepad. Find the line that says
SBEnable=true. Delete the word true from this line and type false in its
place. Click the File pull down menu in the top left corner and then click
Save. Close the Ctsyn.ini window.
Click the Start button and
then click Run. Type MSCONFIG then click Ok.
This will open the System Configuration Utility. If you see a message that says
Environment variables were found in the legacy files... just click on Ok and
the System Configuration Utility will open. Click on the Autoexec.bat tab.
Find the line C:\Progra`1\Creative\Sblive\dosdrv\SBEINIT.com and uncheck the
box to the left of it. Click on Ok and you will be prompted to restart your
computer. Click yes. |
